Resumen:
Vortex is chasing Blaster and the Throttlebots along the highways of California, until Blaster shoots Vortex and ditches him. The Autobots have been chased ever since leaving the Arizona crater (after events in issue #30), and Goldbug pulls into a Blackrock gas station to get fuel for them. Unfortunately, the station contains a RAAT (Rapid Anti-Robot Assault Team) half-track and flier, who attack the Autobots. As his electro-scrambler gun is out of energy, Blaster knocks the half-track with a gas station sign. While he saves the soldiers from a fire, Rollbar is shot by the flier. The Autobots eventually escape, but are once more chased by Vortex.
At the Ark, Wheeljack builds a geothermal generator to tap volcanic heat and produce Energon cubes. Slag mentions radio reports that might be references to Blaster and Goldbug, and Grimlock orders the Protectobots to fetch them.
The Throttlebots hide in a used car lot owned by "Big Steve" Ludwig, an unsavory salesman. His assistant finds the Throttlebots and removes Blaster, and Big Steve decides to scrap the damaged Rollbar. The Throttlebots transform and convince him to give them fuel and a chance to leave; but once he's out of sight, Big Steve contacts RAAT instead.
That night, agent Walter Barnett of the Intelligence and Information Institute ("Triple-I") leads a RAAT squadron into Big Steve's lot -- the Throttlebots are stalled, as Steve filled their fuel tanks with soda. The Combaticons arrive and threaten to destroy the Throttlebots, but are interrupted by the Protectobots. Barnett, believing that all Transformers are working together, exchanges threats with the two groups. Then Big Steve suggests that he holds an auction for the Throttlebots, and the three groups agree.
While this goes on, Chase suggests that Blaster (left in the office) get some fuel so they can escape. Blaster's attempt is interrupted when he sees Swindle preparing to shoot Big Steve. Instead, Blaster bursts out of the office and attacks Swindle; the Protectobots fight the Combaticons, while RAAT loads the Throttlebots onto a car carrier and leave.
The Autobots soon drive off the Combaticons, leaving Big Steve with a lot full of wreckage and a check for three hundred thousand dollars. Annoyed at Big Steve, Blaster shoots the check and burns it, then suggests to Hot Spot that they set out after RAAT. The Protectobots surround Blaster, guns drawn, and Hot Spot explains that Grimlock sent them to return Blaster to the Ark for trial and execution...
