Resumen:
In the Ark, Shockwave studies Earth television broadcasts, and learns of a new oil-drilling platform developed by industrialist G.B. Blackrock. After checking on the recovery of the injured Decepticons, Shockwave informs a weakened and helpless Megatron that he is taking over as Decepticon commander. Megatron, unable to resist, concedes.
In the city, Ratchet reunites with Buster, who explains about how Sparkplug tainted the Decepticons' fuel (last issue). Ratchet tries to communicate with the Ark, but cannot. He decides to return to the Ark and investigate. Buster quickly says goodbye to his father, then leaves with Ratchet.
Back at the Ark, Shockwave reveals a hypothesis to Megatron: that Optimus Prime has the Creation Matrix, a computer program that is able to create new Transformer life. Shockwave's plan is to get the Matrix from Optimus, then build an army of Decepticons and conquer the Earth. Shockwave leaves the Ark in preparation for his plans.
When Ratchet and Buster reach the Ark, they find that the entrance is guarded by Decepticons. Buster sneaks in due to his small size, only to find that all of the Autobots have been gutted and deactivated. Investigating further, he finds the disembodied head of Optimus Prime, begging for help...
