Grimlock is set to blow a hole in the robot Guardian left behind in the Ark by Shockwave. But if he does, Guardian's fail safe will ignite and destroy the Ark! So, Wheeljack takes remote control of the decapitated body of Optimus Prime and subdues Grimlock. This gives the Guardian time to escape where he begins running diagnostics. It logically decides that the best course of action is to activate the timer on his fail safe just in case it fails personally to take care of the Autobots. It storms the Autobots, who try to fight back. With the timer close to zero, Swoop transforms and flies the Guardian away, but apparently he doesn't do it enough time to save himself. Believed to be dead, the Autobots hold a ceremony for Swoop, the Dinobots go off on their own after their own destiny, and Ratchet returns to reactivating an Ark full of Autobots.
